Set up an Actcast device for Dev mode

Set up an Actcast device for Dev mode

To test your application, first use an Actcast device with Dev mode enabled.

Follow the regular device setup procedure to set up an Actcast device.

After the setup is complete, enable Dev mode with the following steps:

  1. Open the device details page for the target device in Actcast Console.
  2. Click the power icon and select Turn on Dev-mode.
  3. Paste your SSH public key into the dialog, then click Add SSH Public Key.
  4. Dev mode is enabled, and you can test applications on the device with ActDK or connect to it over SSH.

For more about Dev mode, see Dev mode.

To make the following steps easier, we also recommend enabling the hostname and mDNS settings.

  1. Open the device details page for the target device in Actcast Console.
  2. In the Info section, click the pencil icon next to Host name, edit the hostname, and save it.
  3. In the same Info section, click the pencil icon next to mDNS Settings, enable mDNS, and save it.
