Usage fee #

This page describes the usage charges incurred when using Actcast services.

See App distribution fee for vendor application development fees.

Pricing model #

Actcast’s pricing model is a pay-as-you-go model, where application development vendors charge groups on a monthly basis. Our pay-as-you-go charges occur when you use the following function.

  • Use of Act

Use of Act #

For each day, the daily fee of an application is calculated as the application price multiplied by the maximum number of devices simultaneously using Acts created from this application. The monthly fee is then the sum of each application’s daily fee for each day of the month.

You will be charged as soon as you install an Act: for one day, you can use an application (associated with this Act) on up to one device belonging to your group at the same time.

This behavior differs a bit from a simple pay-as-you-go model, and if you subsequently uninstall an Act from your device, you will not be charged a new fee for reinstalling a new Act based on the same application. On the other hand, if the new Act is based on a different application, or if Acts based on the same application is used simultaneously on more devices than the current limit, an additional fee will be charged.

If an Act is still installed on devices, the usage will be automatically extended upon date change (UTC 0:00), and charges will be incurred under the above conditions.

(Points to remember)

  • The control of Act installation/uninstallation is based on the operation on Actcast. Even if the actual device is turned off and not running, if an Act is not uninstalled from Actcast, the Act will be considered installed and the charge will be calculated.

  • Usage time does not affect the calculation of charges. The price is the same under the above conditions regardless of whether you use it for a few minutes or all day long.

(For vendors: Application under development usage fee of, no fee relationship between the application that is set development application will be calculated as a fee.)

Calculation example #

Here is an example of how the charges are calculated when using App A with application charges of $ 0.1 and App B with application charges of $ 0.15 on two devices (Device X, Device Y) as follows.
