Fixing the firmware version to a specific version

Fixing the firmware version to a specific version #

When Actcast Agent performs a firmware update, it defaults to the latest version available. However, if for various reasons it is difficult to use the latest version of firmware, you can fix the firmware version to a specific version.

In general, it is not recommended to lock in a version other than the most recent from a security standpoint. Use this feature only if you are forced to do so.

If the version you’re using is found problematic and discarded, the firmware will be forced to update.

Precautions for use #

  • Setting here does not immediately execute the firmware update process. If an update is needed at the next check (and it is not during a time period that prohibits updates), it will be performed at that time. If you want to perform the update immediately, please do it manually from the Web UI.
  • It is not possible to specify a version of firmware older than the currently installed version.
  • When setting multiple devices at once, if the settings are invalid for some of the specified devices, the settings for those devices will be skipped.
  • It is possible that an older version may be specified at certain times, such as when a configuration is changed during a firmware update. In such cases, Actcast Agent will ignore the setting and will not update. (A warning will appear in the web UI.)
  • You cannot newly fix to the versions those are found problematic and discarded. Existing setting for version fix is left as is.
