The Vendor group can create and sell paid applications.
There is a fee charged to the Vendor for this service.
Register and sell paid applications #
Prerequisites #
To sell your app, the following conditions must be met:

If your group is not a Vendor, see Promote a Group to Vendor.
The group name is displayed as a part of seller information on the Act creation page. Therefore, please change the group name to a suitable one (such as company name) before publishing an app.
Tier #
Vendor Groups can choose a price other than Free when creating a new app.
In Actcast, each app’s price is set by choosing a price level called Tier from the price list below.
The price displayed with Tier when creating the app is a reference value at that time. Tier may be revised due to factors such as exchange rate fluctuations.
Currently, the price of each Tier is as follows.

Paid application registration #
Like free apps, you can create a paid app from the side menu Vendor Console.
Set the application setting item Price to a Tier other than Free.
Price cannot be changed after registration.
Usage fees and commissions. #
Usage fee for application under development #
The meaning of “under development application” is an application created by your own group. Even if an application is under development, it will be charged Actcast usage fees because it has the same functionality as an application that can actually be operated.
The daily usage fee for an application under development is Tier 18 regardless of the price set for this application. Please note that if you use an application you created, it will be charged as an application under development even if it has been released.

App distribution fee #
When a released application is used by other groups, the vendor can receive the usage fee from them. At that time, Actcast collects a certain amount as an application distribution fee.
The unit price and collection method of fees vary depending on the application’s publishing scope and its price. The app distribution fee is obtained by multiplying the unit distribution fee by the number of applications used. Please see the Usage fee for details on how to calculate usage number.

See Tier for the current amount for each Tier. In addition, fee is rounded to the minimum currency unit. The minimum currency unit is Cent for USD and Yen for JPY.
Infrastructure usage fees #
The infrastructure usage fee is a fee charged for the use of Actcast’s infrastructure by your application. When infrastructure usage fees are incurred, they will be billed to the vendor who created the application. Please note that infrastructure usage fees also apply to applications in development and free applications.
Currently, the infrastructure usage fees include the following items.
- Pay-as-you-go fee based on the size of the Act Log output by the application (applied from February 1, 2021 (UTC))
Infrastructure usage fees / Act Log fees #
As a principle, we will not charge for Act Logs sent after December 1, 2023 (UTC). However, if a large number of Act Logs are consistently detected, we may request improvements to reduce the volume of Act Logs sent. If no improvement is observed, charges will be applied based on the following formula.
The fee is determined by the total size of the Act Log per application and device within a month (determined by UTC). Be sure to price your application appropriately based on the amount of Act Log output your application creates. Up to 1GB (1024 x 1024 x 1024 bytes) is free. Charges will be applied for every 50MB (50 x 1024 x 1024 bytes) exceeding 1GB, up to the maximum amount of Tier 1.
Here is a simple example. Let’s assume that application X has P and Q as its Acts, and application Y has R as its Act. Suppose that the following Act Logs are sent in a month.
- Device A sends 1.23GB from Act P and 0.27GB from Act Q
- Application X sends 1.23GB + 0.27GB = 1.5GB, the surplus is 0.5GB (50MB x 10)
- Device B sends 1.21GB from Act P and 1.29GB from Act R
- Application X sends 1.21GB, the surplus is 0.21GB (50MB x 4 with truncation)
- Application Y sends 1.29GB, the surplus is 0.29GB (50MB x 5 with truncation)
- Device C sends 0.9GB from Act P
- Application X sends 0.9GB, no surplus
For this month, the total cost will be (Tier 1 amount) x 19 (= 10 + 4 + 5), charged to the application vendor.
Stripe fees #
Since application usage fees will be settled on the Stripe account connected to the Vendor group, a Stripe fee will be incurred (e.g., 3.6% (rounded off) of the payment amount for a Japanese Stripe account).

Currency conversion #
Currency for payment is determined by credit card information of a group using an application. If the currency is different from the currency of your bank account registered with your Stripe account, the currency will be converted at the rate determined by Stripe at payment. In addition, Stripe’s currency conversion fee will be charged at that time.
